SKYBIRD RACE EVENT

About the Squib Class

The Squib is a one-design keelboat originating from the UK. Known for its stability and responsiveness, it creates a level playing field where skill matters more than equipment.

  • Crew: 2 persons
  • Keelboat (stable, no capsizing typical)
  • Identical design across all boats
  • Strong international racing heritage

In Malaysia, the Squib class continues to grow under Peninsular Sailing Club, bringing structured racing into a local environment.

SKYBIRD SQUIB AT SELANGOR

The Skybird National Squib Series is Malaysia’s only dedicated Squib class racing circuit.  A technical, close-quarter sailing format that demands precision, teamwork, and tactical thinking.

Unlike casual sailing, Skybird racing is:

  • Tight and competitive
    Skill-driven, not engine-powered
  • Focused on real wind strategy
  • Accessible yet challenging

This is where sailors sharpen their instincts.
