SKYBIRD RACE EVENT
About the Squib Class
The Squib is a one-design keelboat originating from the UK. Known for its stability and responsiveness, it creates a level playing field where skill matters more than equipment.
- Crew: 2 persons
- Keelboat (stable, no capsizing typical)
- Identical design across all boats
- Strong international racing heritage
In Malaysia, the Squib class continues to grow under Peninsular Sailing Club, bringing structured racing into a local environment.
SKYBIRD SQUIB AT SELANGOR
The Skybird National Squib Series is Malaysia’s only dedicated Squib class racing circuit. A technical, close-quarter sailing format that demands precision, teamwork, and tactical thinking.
Unlike casual sailing, Skybird racing is:
- Tight and competitive
Skill-driven, not engine-powered - Focused on real wind strategy
- Accessible yet challenging
This is where sailors sharpen their instincts.
